her steps are free and frivolous
as she dashes through a field of wildflowers,
the hurricane that brews beneath
her pink clad chest dissolves
into oblivion soaked clouds
on days reminiscent of
simpler times.
she plucks unsuspecting daisies
from their lackadaisical daydreams
on this sun dazed sunday and
makes crowns for Kings Arthur’s court
because she knows that
kings and knights
deserve to feel pretty too.
her feet swing back & forth
to the inner song that
wakes her bones as she sits
on the edge of the dock
her dress just barely skimming the water,
her leather-bound companion
sits by her side soaking
up the afternoon sun as she looks
out across the lake contemplating the universe
and why the water looks like
a thousand crystals bursting from
the beauty they hold.

The thought of you, crossed my mind,
I felt so lonely, and so broken in side.

it started with “good night”
and the way you stopped saying it
and I told myself it was because
you were too tired
too weary
too worn
and I made it okay
then I stopped being your “good morning”
and everyone else saw you first
and I told myself it was because
you were too busy
too popular
too distracted
and I made it okay
now it ends with “good bye”
and it's not a cry for attention or a ploy for your love
you can tell yourself it's because
I'm too needy
too jealous
too much
but I gotta make it, okay?

I have given every sacrifice bled, lost freedom, became a monster just to protect you
Used every skill in human condition which we both know I qualify as an expert. Staying in captivity top three fears of life ( number 1. Become a sandwich number 2. Spiders and number 3. Held captive for any reason if escape was possible!
I laid in a drug haze in the prettiest cage with the key in my hand
My mentor saying hold on the cages break all of them even if you lose the key.
One reason for all this
To prove my love for you is existential everlasting not able to lose not even if you accidentally smothered me to death!
