Literature Text

we are but two shadows
beneath the bonfire
smoldering in the light
of dying supernovas

your fingers interlock with mine
like two puzzle pieces
that don’t quiet fit—
we are imperfect

swirling, we dance in
the ashes of our past lives
your fire burning through
my walls, leaving me
wild and free

this is opposites attracting,
I can see the spark in your eye;
I don’t think i’m the
only one falling in love
tonight
For littleblueraccoon's lovely micro contest featured right here :la:

This was inspired by the song Wild Hearts by The Vamps. Song le here It's an amazing summer jam, go check it out. :meow:
The poem in it's entirety was written and edited in the time span of the song which is 3 minutes and 12 seconds.
It was UNBELIEVABLY hard. :faint: But so much fun. I'd definitely do it again.

I don't usually lend critique, but I'm about to feature this somewhere and came back around to read it a second time. I think you meant for "quiet" to be "quite." Still love this piece as much as ever.

Edit: This is why I feel a particular kinship with your poem.
